SharePoint Evolution 2013 – IW411 – Session Slides
So last week saw another awesome conference from the folks at Combined Knowledge. Yes it was the London SharePoint Evolution 2013 conference and my first outing at a major conference as a speaker!
I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Those of you who know me, or have followed my first steps onto the speaker circuit know what a battle with nerves it has been and I have to say that last week was the absolute pinnacle for me and an absolute rush. I would love to say that I celebrated into the wee small hours at the conference party, but I’d be lying as I hit the wall shortly before midnight and had to head for the hotel!
I did however make up for it the following night at the speaker dinner where the majority of us finally returned to the hotel at around 3am, only to stay in the bar until around 5am! (If nothing makes you want to have a go at speaking, then the speaker dinner laid on by Steve Smith and Combined Knowledge is the incentive you need.)
We were picked up on Wednesday evening at our hotel after the conference wrapped up by those yellow Duck Tour buses that you see around London. These took us on a merry little tour to the South Bank near MI6 where we entered the water and took a little sightseeing tour down the Thames!
After we left the river, we were then taken to Tower Bridge where we were treated to live music, drinks and canapés in the east bridge corridor, before being called to sit down in the west corridor for a full 3 course meal.
After this, we all boarded an old RouteMaster double decker for the trip to Whiskey Myst night club in Mayfair where we danced and drank till the wee small hours!
A highlight of the RouteMaster fun was the Harlem Shake video currently going viral in the SharePoint world!
If anyone tells you IT is boring, bring them to a SharePoint conference!
So, back to the serious stuff, My session slides are on SlideShare and available for you to download. I’m hoping to get some webcasts of my demos recorded over the next week or so (Though I’m at SharePoint Saturday in Belgium this weekend) and I’ll get them linked on my blog as soon as I have done so.
If you came to my session, or you watch it on the conference DVD when it comes out, I hope you enjoy it, gain some value from it and by all means if you have any questions, hit me up on twitter, or comment hear and I’ll be happy to discuss!
Paul.
